A bit of retro fun coming your way~

Recorded history states that ships brought preserved pineapples from the Caribbean Islands and only the fastest ships could bring back fresh pineapples. The fresh pineapple was such a luxury that Colonial confectioners would sometimes rent them to households by the day – a fact a hostess went to great lengths to hide. Later, the same fruit was sold to more affluent customers who actually ate it.
Pineapples topping fruit displays were the high point of decoration for Colonial social events. The fruit came to symbolize the high spirits of these events and soon became the symbol expressing welcome, good cheer, warmth and friendship.
It is in that Colonial spirit that the Langley Officers’ Spouses’ Club welcomes and invites you to our next event. Come and take the opportunity to discover the hospitality of the LOSC.
